A Crash Course On The Drop

Touring festival The Drop rides into Newcastle this weekend with a lineup packed full of juicy Aussie acts.
If you're still on the fence about heading along, let us give you a reminder of why it's one of Australia's most exciting one-day festivals.
THE ACTS
The Drop 2020 is bringing a bunch of Australian champions to each date. You've got electronic legends The Presets, feel-good party starters Ball Park Music and rap hero Allday all in one place. Indie darlings Boy & Bear are also making their triumphant return after a four-year hiatus, with a new album in tow. Holding down the heavier side of things are DZ Deathrays, while Kita Alexander and GRAACE have your pop bases covered. There's also a local act opening at each location - for Newy it's The Pits who'll be bringing their brass-heavy rock to the stage.

THE SET TIMES
One stage, no clashes. You don't have to worry about missing any acts at The Drop, because they all play in the same place! There's still plenty of time to get food and drinks, too, with convenient gaps between each set.
THE LOCATIONS
What could be better than a festival right next to the beach? The Drop travels alongside the World Surf League Australian tour, so it's all about the sun and sand. The Newcastle leg is held at Empire Park, right next to the stunning Bar Beach. Manly, Coolangatta, Torquay and Busselton all follow suit with the ocean breeze drifting right across to the festival grounds!
THE FACILITIES
Food trucks? Check. Markets? Check. Free water? Check. Besides the music, The Drop has everything you'll need to have a great arvo. It's also cashless, so you just need to remember to bring a bank card rather than a fat stack of cash.
Now that you're convinced, check out the full details below and pick up your ticket ASAP.
