J.I.D | Max Watt's Sydney
J.I.D tore the house down at Sydney’s Max Watt's on Tuesday night, with an energetic, captivating and unpredictable set.
The show was opened by New Zealand-born singer/rapper Saint Lane, whose fan base has been growing rapidly since the release of latest single ‘Hickeys’. Lane set the tone for his performance by joking about not making it into Triple J’s Hottest 100, but proved he is a worthy candidate with his own sound, performing a variety of great songs, doing a ‘shoey’ (or two) from a fan's sneaker, and heightening the crowd's excitement for the main act.
Despite recent damage to his vocal cords, J.I.D left no room for disappointment. Rapping his songs word for word across a broad tracklist, the crowd reciprocated the energy he brought to the stage. With J.I.D being in Australia for Laneway Festival alongside Earl Sweatshirt, the almost sold-out crowd was treated to a surprise performance from the OFWGKTA legend (turned solo artist) himself. The Dreamville signee’s show was certainly not one to forget!
